Keyboard and Controls

3270Connect preserves the normal 3270 keyboard interaction model while you work in 3270Web.

AI Chat Panel

  • There is no default keyboard shortcut to open AI Chat mode.
  • Use the Open Copilot chat toolbar button to open the panel.
  • While the panel is open, existing 3270 key bindings remain active for the underlying session.
  • Press Enter in the message box to send a chat message.

Approval and Auto Mode

  • Use Run to approve the next AI action manually.
  • Enable Auto Mode in the panel header if you want actions to execute without pausing for approval.
  • Use Clear to remove the current conversation after confirming the prompt.

Session Control

The AI panel complements the normal terminal controls instead of replacing them. You can continue to use standard 3270 keys, toolbar actions, and chaos controls while the chat panel is open.
